The first consultation with the surgeon
During this consultation the doctor takes note of all the elements of your medical history file, he examines you and analyzes the documents of your thyroid assessment (ultrasound, blood test, aspiration cytology).
At the end of this consultation, he will advise you on the treatment he considers best suited to your case. He explains the benefits and risks of the intervention he is proposing to you. He will explain in detail the practical arrangements for this support and answer your questions. The intervention is scheduled between 3 and 8 weeks after this consultation (except in emergency situations).
A second consultation is often necessary before the operation to check additional assessment results and also to give you the most complete information possible (and answer all your questions). Between this consultation and the day of the operation you can still contact your surgeon by email if you feel the need.
